Spelling Bee

Saturday, March 22, 2008 - West Texas A&M University
The annual Regional Spelling Bee will feature the top spellers from the Panhandle. The top five winners will receive scholarship money ranging from $500 to $5000 and the winner will travel to Washington, D.C., in June to represent the area in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

What's a Kid to Do Fair

Saturday, April 12, 2008 - Amarillo Civic Center
This event focuses on activities and camps for children to participate in during the summer.

Best and Brightest

Saturday, May 17, 2008 - West Texas A&M University
The event at WTAMU will be a luncheon recognizing valedictorians and salutatorians from high schools in the region. 20 other students will be honored for their contributions to their school and community through volunteerism and service.

Yes, You Can

Fall 2008
This event will being together information providers that will benefit persons seeking the next step in their education. From how to obtain a GED, to high school dual enrollment programs, to information about colleges and financial aid, this event will serve as invaluable information in navigating the waters of education.

Discover College Day

Fall 2008
Every 5th grader from amarillo, Canyon, Bushland, Highland Park and River Road school districts will visit a college campus in our area to learn more about college and the careers that are available to those who get an education. Also, parents will be invited to lean more about how to make sure their families are getting ready for college and know the process to do so.
